11 Apr. 2011: Salado Week #2

Dear FAmily and Friends,
 
I had a good week, My new area is good and there are quite a few good members. We dont have alot of investigators but we have one that is awesome and is going to get baptised on Saturday. His name is Sergio Sosa he is 17 and is a friend of a member family, He already is teaching his friends and stuff and has a friend named Ebber that wants to be baptised, I hpoe to be able to start working with his family because he has a really nice family. I cant Remember if I told you about Jose(an old investigator from my last area that we had to drop becuase he moved and it just happened to be to Salado we found him and have started to teach him, He didnt make it to church though but we will see what happens.
 
We got news on changes because they are on wendsday and me and Scovill are just staying. Hes cool and teaches well he has no shame or doesnt get embarassed about anything so it is fun and He is helping me be confident.  I have learned alot about Dragons, swords, knights and all that stuff so it keeps  things interesting haha. I think we will be together for just 6 weeks, and then he willl leave... it makes me think this will be my last area. My Comp really wanted to leave so I hope we can keep working.. he was disappointed he didnt move up to senior comp-
 
The ward is okay but struggling, we have one of the biggest prettiest chaples that I have seen here and we only have about 80 active members,there are rumors of all sorts about the bishop and lots dont go because of that and there arelots of people that where baptised because the chuch was giving out food but now they are all inactive, I am a bit worried about our bishop he hasnt been to church for 4 weeks so we are going to be visiting and seeing what we can do to help- We talked last night and planed a meeting for tuesday. I hope all goes well.
 
That is that I am praying that I can know what to do to help out in all aspects there are several challanges but nothing is impossible with the Lord I know He called me here and that this is His work, I love you and hope for the best

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
