19 April 2010: Aregua cerca Luque Week #3

Dear Family     Thanks for your letters. It was fun to here from you. I had another good week with a lot of good things happen that needed to. I am excited for the weeks to come because we are working with some really good investigators. We should have a baptism this friday so that will be sweet his hame is William and he is 13 we have baptism dates withhis mom and sister but they dont have enough asistencia yet but they are a sweet family and all came to church and loved it-       The family that we are working with is good but we ran into a problem because Adela is married to her first husband. which is a huge problem here in paraguay because devorces can take 3-4 years. Here is the good thing, They have some money and they had already started from before we started teaching. Osvaldo is really cool I have never seen so much change in one of my investigators, he has truely gained a testimony. I was touched as we sat with him and read some scriptu...

Dear Family and Friends        Thanks for your letters this week it was fun to here from you all! I had another good week of hard work and success. You know I I told you when I got here we had two investgators? Well we ended the week with 7 Baptism dates. We had only three in church and the earliest fecha is the 24 so it we be almost two weeks before we start to baptise. Three of the fechas are with the family we had in conferance. I would have never thought they would still be progressing but we have started to see them change. Their names are Osvaldo, Adela,  and Rodrigo. They seem really cool. We also have three fechas with a single mom and 2 of her kids but they are super poor which isnt to bad but they were going to go to church but ended up going somewhere to sell there Dvd player because they didnt have any food or money to buy it. So that is tough but they seem like they really want to start going to church.       As fo...

Dear Family, How are you doing? I  had another good week or at least a little crazy again. I thought I was going to stay in Piribebuy with Elder fernandez but I guess the Lord thought different. So Tuesday I got word That I was going to be transfered to Aregua cerca Luque and be with Elder Eliason. I left early wendsday and got to my new area by noon. Elder Eliason is from South Jordan Like 5mins from the new temple there. He is cool I get along better withhim then my last comp. but we have lots of work to do. when I got here we had two investigators. He is a hard worker but has been with crappy missionaries almost his whole mission. he is in his 7 change so will have a year in like May and just moved up to senior comp. We have a sweet house it is big and nice and we live with the zone leaders Elder spencer from Indiana and Calderon from Equador. So it is fun. the only thing is that when me and Elder Spencer got to the house it was a disaster but elder spencer and I have spent a lo...

29 Mar. 2010: Piribebuy Week #12

Dear Family and Friends   I am doing great and had another good week we had alot happen but didnt have a baptism. We have changes on wendsday so that is crazy every change just goes faster and faster. I really like piribebuy so I dont know what to want or expect in the change. We had a wonderful experiance at the temple on tuesday The temple here is small but it is beautiful I had to buy my clothes because they dont have any to rent so i have every thing now. But I loved being in the temple and it was a great session in spansh. It was a good experiance.   As for the work we have been focusing in the City and not in the towns becauase that is what president wants. so the work is alittle harder. it is just alot harder to talk to the people in the city. We have been working alot in the town Itaguyra too because that is where all of the baptisms have been and the people are just amazing I love them and will miss them when I go.   We went there sunday after church to work...

Dear Family and Friends   Thanks for your letters this week. I always love your letters and pictures. I had a pretty good week down here in Paraguay. The temperature is still hot but at night is is getting a bit cooler. The baptism of Sonia(the 16 yearold niece of rufina) didnt happen thursday but We were able to baptise her last night. It felt good to finally have her baptism. She goes down as the baptism with the most doubts. She always had some little doubt that was hard to solve but yesterday we worked so hard on getting everything ready and ok- Sonia didnt have much support from her family so it was hard but we were able to do a sweet service for the mom and Dad.   So we were talking we Sonia about her baptism and everything about it for quite a while and she finally got the assurance that it would be ok to be baptised then. The only problem was her mom and dad were out in the jungle getting oranges to sell so we were like ok. we will go find them. we had two kids take us...

Dear Family and Friends, I am still doing good. We had another good week even though it wasnt as good as last week. We only got one of our investigators in church and the girl Sonia that was supposed to be baptised yesterday hid from us so when we got to chuch I was feeling super bad and tlike we had just failed at everything so i opened randomly my scriptures to Ether 12..6 it made me feel a bit better after chuch we went to itaguyra to talk with sonia and we got everything worked out and she still wants to be baptised we also got to talk with her mom eligia and she actualy just told us that she wanted to get baptised in a few weeks. so that was good we got to talk about that Dad and he is really cool. we are going to focus on teaching him. So really our week was good. We have lots of work to do but I know that the Lord will Bless us as we work hard.                    Love Elder Call Dear Mo...

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear everything is going great and that Dad Survived his trip without breaking something...may he just forgot to tell me. I am doing super good too. Really we had an awsome week. We had a sweet zone conferance and are starting to see the miracles of the month of march. This month as a mission we have to baptise 384 people to catch up to our goals. Last month was 128 as one of the all time lows. To do so President has asked us to be more obediant, work harded, and pray more fervently. I testify it worked. This week Elder Fernandez and I had 10 investigators in church and our assistencia doubled. We have some people getting ready for baptism but they should mostly be next week. We have been working with a lady Aurrellia and  her 5 kids, they all went to church.  It was great. So not this week but like the 16 is thier fecha. So hopefully Heavenly Father will continue to bless us. As for everything else Elder fernandez and I are doing w...

Family And Friends,   I had another good week. We worked hard but friday it started to rain and saturday in continued all the way through saturday night so sunday we couldnt get the culitivo to go to Itaguyra or Cordillera where all of our fechas are. So we didnt have anyone in the capilla so Really all of our eleven fechas fell and now we have to restart.-- Elder Fernandez is ok he is harder to get along with but we will make it through. we Are triing to get things going in piribebuy with the work so we have been doing alot of our contacts here in piribebuy.- It is a lot harder becuase the people are alot harder but it is still good we have found a couple good investigators.- there is a man named Luis gini that we have been teaching- he is really cool- He was a really good soccer player and has been all over the world. which is suprising because he lives in ahumble house and always wants to listen to the message of Christ.  The lady Carmin that was baptised in spain didnt go ...

22 Feb. 2010: Piribebuy Week #7

Dear Family and Friends Another great week flew by. I didnt change areas but was shocked when I found out that Elder Garcia was moving to Limpio. I wanted another change with him. He was a great companion. He went to Limpio as Zone leader.- And my new Comp Is Elder Fernandez From Buenos Aires He only has 6 months in the mission so we are like the youngest companionship in the mission It is crazy but It is good. we have to really rely on each other- He speaks perfect spanish and english and is a good missionary.- we will learn a lot this change. He comes from a fam of 6. 2 Brothers and a sister. and is the oldest.-    changes give an opportunity to restart and do things better. we worked hard and were 100% obediant. The Lord blessed us with a baptism and confirmation. I know it was Heavenly Father that helpedus with the baptism because we had had problems with permission but we had a mini miracle and got permision. We also had another little miracle when we were out i...

Dear Family and Friends, How are you all doing. I am doing well. I did have a better week. Everything went pretty well. We didnt have the baptisms and Im not to sure what will happen with Blanca and David. We are teaching a man named Gaspar he is the hermano of Christina. He is 83 and I think his baptism will be sunday. He is really cool. It has been super hot and we havent had rain for like three weeks. Everday is between 40-45 degrees Celcius. So way hot. the people cant believe we walk so much when it is so hot. But honestly its not too bad. I am just glad I am not freezing. We had 60 members in church and 4 investigators. The rama has 530 members I found out the other day with like fifty active. We worked hard to find some families because we really need families. Yesterday we found two new families so that was exciting but I dont know what will happen they seemed really cool. we have an activity in the Rama Thursday where we are have members bring friends and we are inviting every...

1 Feb. 2010: Piribebuy Week #4

Dear Family and Friends I had another good week. It wasnt the best but it was alright. Our baptisms both didnt go through. We were going to have the baptisms of both blanca and David but ran into problems with both. First off with David, We went to his house sunday morning to get him and his grandma wouldnt let him go because he was being dis obediant. His grandma is blind and crazy. She isnt a member because she is old adn doesnt understand anything. But David has an Aunt that is a member, Rufina, but the thing is with David is he is a twelve year old that is suppose to sit by his grandma so she has help because there is no one else. He also works. So his Grandma thinks he is the Worlds worst kid. So David was crying because he wants to be baptised. So he wasnt able to come. Blanc Came but when we started her meeting  her Dad flipped and started saying all this stuff about how we didnt ask him and how she didnt know anyhting and all this stuff that wasnt true. I dont know why but ...

Dear Family and Friends I had another great week here in Paraguay.  A lot of little things happened this week that made it extra exciting.  We had the baptism of Christina Martinez the 85 year old lady. I got to baptize her on Thursday and confirm her on Sunday. It was really cool. That was my first Confirmation and it is still a little tough because my Spanish isn’t that good but It was good.  They asked who she wanted to confirm her and she wanted me so that kind of touched me because I didn’t expect it.  She is an amazing person. I have desided she must feel something so strong in that capilla because its not what we teach that has given her the testimony that she has because I don’t speak any Guarani and Elder Garcia speaks very little. We also had the opportunity twice this week to help two families who were out of food and didn’t have money. The first is Susana she has been an investigator but is moving back to Argentina as soon as she gets her papers. She has ...

18 Jan. 2010: Piribebuy Week #2

Dear Family,       How are you all doing? It sounds like you are all having a good winter. I had a good week but we traveled a ton so it was tough. We went to Asuncion monday for our zone activity, we just ate at a fancy chinese restuarant. Then tuesday Elder Garcia had a meeting in Asuncion For all District Leaders so I went to an area close to Itagua for the Day and wendsday we were back in our area but we had zone conferance on thursday in asuncion. So we werent in our area much at all but this next week will be alot better.     Elder Garcia is a really good missionary. He came in the same time as Elder Job so He has Like 15 months in the Mission. I can talk with him alright. I cant say everything I want or as fast as I want to say it but he is super patient. His spanish is really clean and I can understand him pretty well. He comes from A family of I think four. His Dad Died when he was 12 and has 2 younger siblings I think...His mom And dad are return missi...
