25 Jan. 2010: Piribebuy Week #3
Dear Family and Friends
I had another great week here in Paraguay. A lot of little things happened this week that made it extra exciting. We had the baptism of Christina Martinez the 85 year old lady. I got to baptize her on Thursday and confirm her on Sunday. It was really cool. That was my first Confirmation and it is still a little tough because my Spanish isn’t that good but It was good. They asked who she wanted to confirm her and she wanted me so that kind of touched me because I didn’t expect it. She is an amazing person. I have desided she must feel something so strong in that capilla because its not what we teach that has given her the testimony that she has because I don’t speak any Guarani and Elder Garcia speaks very little.
We also had the opportunity twice this week to help two families who were out of food and didn’t have money. The first is Susana she has been an investigator but is moving back to Argentina as soon as she gets her papers. She has three kids, two who were baptized in December. They don’t have much because the boyfriend drinks and smokes and so we took them some food. Nothing too fancy but what a blessing for this family.
The other family is a family that was baptized recent too and Sunday we called to see why they weren’t in church and the esposa de Jose said that Jose went out to find work because they didn’t have money and not enough food to make it through the next day. We went and bought them some food. Like.. rice pasta flour bread milk . just things like that and took it to them. Jose fixes things like tvs and stuff so he doesn’t make a lot and the problem is a lot of people take their stuff there and don’t pay because he just fixed it.
On the way a lady we didn’t know stopped us and said hey my mom is really sick you can bless her right…. We don’t know how she knew but we look forward to teaching her and he family this week. We told her we would be back in fifteen min. When we got back and I saw the Sofia the mom I just About fainted. I saw suffer like never before. We explained who we were and what we were. Then Elder Garcia gave her a blessing. She had been to sick to leave the bed for six months. They have had doctors kind of they just say thay cant do anything. I think she has skin cancer but part of it was just a baseball size circle of open flesh that was like half an inch deep. The spirit was strong and everyone was crying. It was really sad she is 78 years old.
This week we have at least two baptisms with possible 3. We will have the baptisms of Blanca and David. I hope we can also get permission for the baptism of Angie too. So we had 4 investigators in church.
The work is good but this week we have to find a bunch because we have just about baptized out. We are going to do Lists of conocidos con as many miembros as we can because they work better than anything. I look forwark to another week of hard work and from hearing from you all again.

Dear Mom and Dad
How is it going. I had a great week. Here is a picture of our Baptism this week. I hope you enjoy it. It looked like you had a lot of fun fishing. Those were some pretty big fish. I didn’t know Chelsea was going that is cool. If you can say anything about Skyler you should was it with a darn girl.
I sent letters a while back to several people in the ward and you guys and my grandmas. So who knows when you will get them they were written like the first of December.
I would still like the Line of authority and a few other things. I great package would be Call ready mix pens and the other thing is Dvds of the church videos Like The Restoration, Findin faith in Christ, the family one . Just make sure they play in Spanish. And any other church ones like that. We have people that want to watch them but no one has them beside a couple of missionaries and they aren’t at the church store. I love you-
