22 Mar. 2010: Piribebuy Week #11
Dear Family and Friends
Thanks for your letters this week. I always love your letters and pictures. I had a pretty good week down here in Paraguay. The temperature is still hot but at night is is getting a bit cooler. The baptism of Sonia(the 16 yearold niece of rufina) didnt happen thursday but We were able to baptise her last night. It felt good to finally have her baptism. She goes down as the baptism with the most doubts. She always had some little doubt that was hard to solve but yesterday we worked so hard on getting everything ready and ok- Sonia didnt have much support from her family so it was hard but we were able to do a sweet service for the mom and Dad.
So we were talking we Sonia about her baptism and everything about it for quite a while and she finally got the assurance that it would be ok to be baptised then. The only problem was her mom and dad were out in the jungle getting oranges to sell so we were like ok. we will go find them. we had two kids take us on a sweet trail through some nasty jungle and we ran into the mom and Dad. The mom had a big bag of oranges on her head and thdad had a big bag on his shoulder so I took the bag from the mom and we took turns resting-. the bags were super heavy and my back is sore today but it was totally worth it and it was fun. I love doing stuff like that. Neither of the parents of sonia came to the baptism but they gave the permission we needed I was greatful for the wonderful oppertunity to serve. the funny thing is is paraguayans think all americans are the same and that we never do work like carry heavy things through the woods.so they are like LOOK HE LIKES WORK LIKE THIS BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER DONE IT:It makes me laugh because I came from a background where we work like that they just dont know it.
So all in all it worked out well we had a good baptismal service and ate banana bread for desert. Everyone loves the banana bread I make so I make it for everything. I have probably made it a good 20 times so far.-
Tomarrow we get to go to the temple so I am excited for that and then after I get to go on a division with Elder RUsh my District leader From MESA Arizona. He is cool and we get along good like all of our likes are the same.- He is a great missionary-.
Well that is all I have this week I Know I am in the work of a loving heavenly Father that truly cares about each of us and the desires of our heart.- I love you.
