12 April 2010: Aregua cerca Luque Week #2

Dear Family and Friends

       Thanks for your letters this week it was fun to here from you all! I had another good week of hard work and success. You know I I told you when I got here we had two investgators? Well we ended the week with 7 Baptism dates. We had only three in church and the earliest fecha is the 24 so it we be almost two weeks before we start to baptise. Three of the fechas are with the family we had in conferance. I would have never thought they would still be progressing but we have started to see them change. Their names are Osvaldo, Adela,  and Rodrigo. They seem really cool. We also have three fechas with a single mom and 2 of her kids but they are super poor which isnt to bad but they were going to go to church but ended up going somewhere to sell there Dvd player because they didnt have any food or money to buy it. So that is tough but they seem like they really want to start going to church.
      As for the area in general I am starting to like it, it is a neat area to work becuase we have good members and alot of interested people to teach. I am excited to see what will happen here.
      I really like the house it is alot of fun to live with the three other elders. It is testing me though because it is harder to go to bed on time and also not take away from studies and personal times. For Pday we went next door to play volleyball at the church. it was pretty fun then we went to eat in luque and we went shopping and stuff.
     The ward is pretty strong there was only like 85 in chuch but they have good leadership so they dont just rely on us so much which is super nice too.
     We have zone conferance tomorrow so we will be going to asuncion. I really like zone conferance and am excited to hear what its about the mission has acually had a big fall in numbers the last few months so we will see what happens.

Thanks for the letter I hope I got your questions answered. It sounds like Evan going out of control but atleast he has good grades. Are you working Saturdays then?  I think this area is like the areas you would have been in we have a bunch of villas and redish dirt and Mandarinas. I keep seeing stuff you always talked about. it is cool  Here are a few pics from the week the first to are eating the second is the milanesa that you liked I think and the third is a frog for Dallin and ben And the 4th is jsut cute kids. I cant believe you bought a boat. Was it a super good deal? It looks clean and Fun but easy to tip over in the waves. Are you takeing it to lake powell too. So that you guys will have two boats? It Looks like you have quite the set up there. What did mom say. When does school end? for you ?   are you going to stay there in rock springs? Take Care man. Who will you go with? Love ya

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
