14 Dec. 2009: Juan de Salazar Week #3

Dear Mom I decided to just go through and answer your questions.I am doing great. I am excited for Evan. I am really starting to enjoy my time here. There are alot of Elders who complain alot but I cant figure out why becuase I like the people the food the green, the temperture most of the time and shareing the message of the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. That first week was hard but it is getting easier. I learn so much every day it is crazy. the Lord is helping me so much.
The baptism of rosolino got posponed until this wensday when we also have another baptism. Junior Torres, is 11 with reactivating mom I get to baptise him. I am excited and grateful for that opportunity.
You have to brag for me to grandma Call because the apple juice that I buy in the store tastes like the juice from the press. I get to eat lots of good food and drinks.
Mom I love you know that I am doing great and working hard to be the best sevant of the Lord I can be.

BethAnn's Letter to Justin with his responses bigger:

Dear Elder Justin:

Brother Aagard has asked which scripture you chose for your missionary plaque.  When he sent the scriptures and the pictures to get made, they did not send back the paper that had who chose what scripture went to you or to Seth.  These are the two options:  D&C 33:7-9 -- "Yea, verily, verily, I say unto you, that the field is white already to harvest; wherefore, thrust in your sickles, and reap with all your might, mind and strength.  Open your mouths and they shall be filled, and you shall become even as Nephi of old who journeyed from Jerusalem in the wilderness.  Yea open  your mouths and spre not, and you shall be laden with sheave upon your backs, for lo, I am with you."

I think Alma is the one I chose but I dont remember?

Or, Alma 29:9 -- "I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it.  I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentnce; and this is my joy."

How was your week?  How many investigators did you have at church? Is there a church in Limpio? Yea there is but I am in area Juan de salazar and that is a ward too.  How close is your apartment to the church? It is like a ten min walk Is your apartment pretty nice? No its not, but I am geting used to it. It is alot nicer than alot of our investigators houses Do you keep it clean? I try to clean something everyday because it was really dirty. there is alot of moab red sand that gets on everything and every where.  If not, be sure you take time to clean it.  Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

We have had several inches of snow the past few days.  Early the past week, the temperatures were around 20 below.  Tonight it was around 40 degrees and snowing pretty hard.  Dad plowed the lane this morning for the first time this year.

We leave Wednesday morning to pick up Evan.  Right now he is at the mission home getting last minute council from his Mission President.  He will spend the Monday night in the mission home and then Tuesday, they go to Manilla.  I hope he will have the opportunity to attend the temple before he comes home.  We are excited to have him come home.

Please know we love you very much.  I am so thankful for my membership in Christ's Church.  I know that God lives, He is our Heavenly Father and He loves you and me.  He hears and answers our prayers.  Jesus Christ is His Son and our Redeemer.  He is the Light and Life of this world.  It is His birth that we celebrate at Christmas.  The Book of Mormon testifies of Him.  Joseph Smith is a prophet and President Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today leading and guiding us.  Our lives are blessed when we keep the commandments.

Continue to share the Good News of the Gospel.  I love you very much.

Love, MOM
