22 Dec. 2009: Juan de Salazar Week #4

Dear Family,
I am doing really well. This week was back to the super hot Paraguayan air. I am glad to here Evan is home and safe. Did you all get the picture I sent last week- I had some I wanted to send today but the computer I am on doest let my chip in so sorry. I had A good week even though the baptism did happen with junior. We did have Rosolinos bauptism And conformation thoughso that was good. We sould have three more on wensday. All tree boys of inactive families. we also have a kid named Hugo who is eleven and came to church. he is awesome . He asked if he could be baptised before his fecha. but his willbe on the 6th.  His mom is cool to but she has to work alot on sundays so she will be tough. People who have to work are really tough to get to progress becuase they wont give a job for anything becuse they are so poor. I am exited for the phone call and will be calling some time soon sorry I dont have more info for you now. I love you all have a Merry christmas. I am greatful to be here and for the opportunity to have a white christmas too.

I replied to those quesions below I look forward to calling you. We still dont know where we are going to do it because noone in our area has a phone not even the church. So just be ready. I am haveing a good time and doing well. This week was really hot. but it finally rained and poured yesterday. Our ward here is struggling we only had like 53 at church and 3 investigators. we work hard with inactives because there are so many. today we had a zone soccer game so that was fun. I am doing well adn look forward to the call I am glad evan is home that is so cool.
Also I havent heard anything bad with the mail here. I love you love elder call

      How was your baptism?
My baptism of Junior Torres didnt happen because his mom is weird and she disappeared when we had it planned so it is replaned forwendsday when I should baptise two and Elder Job 1 that will be exciting because it me I get a white christmas too.  
      I hope you had the opportunity to do the baptizing.  That is a great feeling and really only the beginning of what the Gospel plan has in store for each person.  Cache told his family that he had the opportunity to attend the temple when one of the families in his first area went to be sealed.  He commented that baptizing is only the beginning.  I am so thankful you are a missionary!  I pray for your success and safety each day.  Have you found some people to help provide Christmas to? 
    No, I dont know how to do it but I just Got an Idea because there is a family in the ward that has next to nothing so it would be good to buy some groceries for them.  If so, please tell me about it.
    I have not sent you a slow letter yet, but one of these days you will be surprised.  I am thankful for modern day technology and e-mail.  It is so nice to receive letters so quickly from you.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
