7 Dec. 2009: Juan de Salazar Week #2

Dear Family,
I am doing and feeling alot better even though it is still very difficult to understand the people. Happy Birthday MoM and Evan. The baptism was just of a girl who turned nine and her dad baptized her. But on wendsday we have another one of a Old man Named Rosolino. he is really cool. I am not sure who is baptizing him yet.
The ward here is struggling because there are problems with the bishop and a lot of people dont like him. We had 63 members at chuch and only 1 investigator.
My area is on of the prettier areas. It has more trees than most.
The food is acually pretty good but alot iof it is skechy. I have eaten aand eat alot of the food I remember dad talk about. Like...empanadas, chorillos, lots of stuff with corn, and lots of fruit.
As for the money I get 850mil a month. the exchange is like  5,000 guarani to 1 dollar. or 5 mil to one dollar. Everything is super cheap. like I buy my groceries for like 60mil or 15 bucks adn that gets me easy through the week.
We ride the bus alot and walk alot. There is lots of red sand like at moab and even some slickrock.
I got like 250 mil out of my own card. I also have a mission cardAnd that is how we get our money for the month. I also went to asuncion and Ate at burger King. It was the best burger I have had. I am really starting to like paraguay and the people and food. it is still new adn different but I am adjusting well. My comp is the district leader and we live about an hour from the mission home. President is really cool. The people have some christmas decorations. but they are very poor so the decorations are also poor but they do have christmas spirit.
For Pday we have to travel a ways to the grocery store and  so we havent done much for pday It ends up takeing most the day for that and writing home but once things settle down hopefully we can do something different.
I hope all is well and Evan gets home safe I am so proud of him. And Dallin there is B ball courts but I have never seen any one playing. People ussually play soccer and volly ball.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well.
