10 Jan. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #12
Dear Family and Friends,
Thanks for the letters this week. We had a good week and are doing well. The week passed by super fast we didnt end up having Diego´s baptism this week but it is set for this Saturday, he has progressed alot in the last two weeks. It has been super hot lately and will be through April so its just starting. I honestly believe Heavenly Father blesses and strengthens us to be able to work in the heat if I wasnt a missionary I dont know if I could do it.. As for my companion he is doing well,he is from Calgary, we watched the funeral together with President and sister Madariaga, it was a nice contribution to her life and was a really nice service, I learned alot about my companion and his family. He has a really neat family. It seems that they are all doing well for the circumstances however it is really dificult.
As for us and the work we are back to normal basically Elder humphreys is a hard worker so we dont waste time even when President gave us permision to take the dayoff. We are working hard and finding people to teach. We are excited about the baptism this week he is super ready!!! at church the young women made change boxes for the youngmen to start collectiing money for their missions. Diego hasnt decided yet if he wants to servebut he turns 18 in February. so he the perfect age.
We had a neat experiance on sunday where we were contacting and i felt like we should talk to a lady that was just sitting in her yard when we said hi she invited us in we sat down and started talking she said that she was in a bad situation and was praying for help from god. Anyway to make alongstory short her nephew murdered his wife and left 6 kids all under 8 she cant take care of the because her husband is sick and cant work so she is going to give them up to adoption, any way we found out she was a member of the church and wants to come back once everything gets worked out, she appreciated our visit and prayer. We are guided by the spirit I know that the Church is true, conversion is a process the book of Mormon is true that through it we can feel the spirit and learn whatwe need to do. I love you all
Love Elder Call
