12 Sept. 2011: Luque Week #5

Dear Family and Friends,
 
It is great to hear from you all again today I cant believe I have just two more Pdays, it is going by so fast. I love being a missionary. We have so many wonderful opportunities to learn and to grow. I have learned alot, today we took a bus into Asuncion to go to the doctors office because my comp. has had a few problems in his chest on the bus we where just laughing and talking about how our mothers would react in the situation being on one of these buses. It was pretty fun to think about, it brought back memories of my first weeks here, the shock mode of being so close to so many unknown people in a vehicle driving wayto fast through ridiculus traffic. I have really come to love there culture and way of life. 
 
In our Branch we are doing alright there are still alot of problems but they seem to be alright this week there werent any break downs so that is good, we afound two really awesome families this week one is the friend of a member we  have taught them twice now and they are really receptive, they are the kind of family when you look at them you can see the in sunday dress and just think they are mormons,. They have four kids one of which has Lukimia. We ased the dad in one of the lessons what is the most important thing in his life, He responded, "my family and helping them get close to God" I loved his answer because that is exactly what the gospel is for, I know that families cant be together forever. I wish all families were as special as the Villagra family, They ahve a few challanges to over come before they can com to church but they committed for this coming sunday.
 
We contacted another family and shared the book of mormon and questions of the Soul, They are neighbors to our elders quorm president. We have another visit tonight with them and I am really excited about that because they were really interested, and had questions about the plan of salvation, I guess their son passed away  awhile back and the mom still struggles with her feelings. i am greatful for the Plan of Happiness and the knowlage of life after death, The gospel is so perfect. I know that it we ahave the fulness of the gospel on the earth today that it has been restored. I have been reading the Book of Mormon edition of the Ensign and have jsut love reading the stories of how the book of mormon aahs had such a huge inpact in the lives of so many people. I aam greatful to have the opportunity to witness the same changes in my life and in the lives of hundreds of paraguayans, 
 
I am so greatful for you and the examples you are to me. I cant wait to see you all . Love each of you

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
