13 June 2011: Salado Week #11

Dear Family and Friends,
 
Thanks for the letters this week I really had a really good week, we are working hard and enjoying our time together, I love watching people progress as the receive answers to their prayers., Evan told me or gave me the advice to look for familiesihad heard that before but I have been thinking about it alot in the last couple weeks and have been praying that we could find a family to teach. We received a reference of a lady from one of the members butdidn't know where the house was we where suppose to go on Thursday to the reference with the member But I guess heavenly father wanted us to arrive before that because on Wednesday
we were just contacting and we showed up at the house of the this reference and met the mom dad and the four kids they at first gave several excuses but we got to know them I shared a message about our purpose and eternal families. 'we left and didnt think too much about it, we went back and they shared that they felt good and that they where really touched by the way we shared with them It reminded me or what grandma taught me before I left about showing that you care for the people before the will really open up-. and care about what you have to share with them, I have tried appling that my whole missionand it has helped alot. the family couldnt go to church yesterday but promised to go this week to come. I am doing great I love this work. I know its true. I love you all so much love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
