14 Mar. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #21

Dear Family and Friends,
 
How are you all doing? I am doing well. We had another good week. I feel that Elder Humphreys is the only comp I have ever had, it has been a  while, It is good though we are good friends and get along well I feel like the longer I am with him the better friends we are. Sometimes it is hard but I am greatful for him and his desires to work Hard and be 100% obediant, we are doing well. He is doing well with the loss and everything, it doesnt seem to effect him too much.
 
This week we had alot of challanges, several investigators are falling into doubts or just slowly progressing but we are working hard with them and doing everything we can to help them receive the answers they need from God., We had one of the neatest spiritual experiances I have had yet on tuesday. We were have a tough day because alot of our visits fell and we didi tons of contacts just getting rejected. I felt bad and we were wondreing what we did wrong, Did we not plan well? what is going on? At the very end of the day my testimony was strengthened and we had a wonderful oppertunity to serve.
We were walking down the highway on the way home it was late and dark. We hadnt met our goals and were just bumed out but as we passed a bus stop a lady sitting on the bench called to us crying out of past experiance I thought O boy she just wants money, and I even thought about not stopping, but we were told to stop and talk to her. She was crying and told us that she called us because she knew we helped people and that she needed help, not help economically or physically but spiritually. She said she felt alone and had no more reason to live, she said she wanted to throw herself infront or a moving truck to end the problems, I was in shock a bit and we just listen with love the best we could, She lived with several of her grandkids that she raised and loved, but the mom of the kids was taking them away and had just been fighting, she felt really bad about it all..... we thought carefully for what to say, We testified of the love of God testifing to her that she is loved and that god knows her personally. We testified of prayer and how our loving heavenly Father wants to hear from her. We after a while walked to her house because it was close and said a prayer.  On wendsday we returned one thing she said that really stuck with me was that she said she felt better and that the problems were ok they got it all worked out she said It was a miracle for me that you guys were able to come to me in a time of need.
 
I was greatful for that oppertunity to be a representitive of Jesus Christ and Help some one maybe even save a life. I know that the Lord loves each and everyone of us it doesnt matter where we are or who we are, He watches, He knows, I know He lives this is His work, I love it, Ilove you and hope you are all doing well.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
