15 Aug. 2011: Luque Week #1
Dear Family and Friends,
Thanks again for all the emails, and dont feel bad for not sending me anything for my birthday. I am way too spoiled here anyway. This week was kind of crazy or unexpected but filled with blessings and challenges. It is wierd because I feel so young still in the mission yet after wendsday I will be the oldest along with my group. the time goes way fast. Transfers are on wendsday, but last tuesday I got the news that I was leaving so last tuesday I said goodbye to everyone and packed my bags. I left wendsday morning. So where am I? I am in Luque with Elder Ferwerda until wendsday basically just waiting for my companions comp to die or go home and for Elder Ferwerdas comp to come in.- ELder Ferwerda is form St george UT, but on wendsday I will go with Elder Roeller, From Texaswho is with Elder Smith from Rexburg who is Kyson Dana´s best freind. Elder Smith goes home this week. you might Have to think for a second to figure out what I just wrote. haha
I dont know why but I will finish my mission as zone leader in Amparo, Aregua. What I am most excited about is I will get to visit my coverts and friends form Aregua and see them in church each sunday. It has been over a year since I was there in Aregua and now I will be right next door. I already know Elder Roeller a little bit, it will be great because he is a really excited person and it will be easy to work hard the rest of my mission. It is alot more enjoyable when you have a comp that loves the mission and loves to work hard and be obediant.
So this last week has been great on thing that made me so happy was on wendsday morning we were at the mission office and I was standing there just talking with old comps and friends when someone put his arm around my back and Said Elder Call do you remember me? I turned around and realized it was Carlos Bernal from MRA he was an investigator me and Elder humphreys contacted and started teaching a couple weeks before I left. We were teaching him , his Wife Raquel and their two kids. As we talked I could see the happiness in his eyes. He showed me his wedding ring and told me he stopped drinking and smoking and was planing on getting baptized. He has progressed so much I was congradulating him on all his desions to change. I told him that ever since we showed up at his door we could tell that they were a special family prepared and called of God. They will be a awesome family in the ward there they are actually well off and well Educated.
That made me happy but I was really sad to leave Salado and all of the people I got to know there.- I guess it was time to move on and find others to help. I really do have a testimony that it is by revalation we are called to each of our areas. I have felt that everytime I have entered into an area and gotton to know the people.
My goal is to love everyone and treat them the best I can by listening to them and helping them build their faith and make covenants with the Lord. I have been so blest here in all of my areas, it hurts to leave every time.
I had so much more to say but I am running out of time. I hope you enjoy the pictures they are of the last day there in Salado. I hope all continues to go well I love you all so very much Love Elder CAll
