15 Nov. 2010: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #4

Dear Family and Friends.
 
Another week has already passed, It was a great week though and we recieved lots of blessings we have been working hard on finding those that are prepared to recieve gospel and are seeing the results. Shirley hasnt been baptised yet we are trying to wait until she feels ready so we are working out some last minute doubts.
We had 10 invesigators in church so we felt like that was a huge blessing. We found a lady that has two daughters that used to recieve the missionaries but her dad or someone didnt like it so she never got baptised but to make a long story short she moved and is looking really good for baptism the first week of December. Her name is Brigida. 
 
We also have been working with a young man named Edil but friday he told us that he found a job and whouldnt be able to come to church any more for a while so we didnt even visit him after that but he decided not to go to work and to just go to church we were surprised but it was way sweet.
 
We are trying to get the work with the Maka indians going there are already some members but we are going to start teaching others it is way cool they seem to be such a special people it is hard though because we have such a solid language barier. But 4 investigators came to church so I guess that is the start. 
 
Also Araceli is doing great she hasnt missed a meeting yet and is sharing the gospel with those she can. Her dad Told us yesterday he wanted to be baptised he just dosnt really want to give up smoking or drinking....yet. But the family is awesome they invited us over for lunch yesterday and we had a Paraguayan BBQ. 
 
Today we are going to eat mexican food. It seems to be the most missed food for missionaries here we will see how it is.  But the restuarant we eat at last week wast way good it isthe fanciest place I have ever eaten at and was all you can eat for what is about 12 bucks 
 
But the mission is treating me well I am so greatful to have the oppurtunity to serve the Lord her in Paraguay I know this work is true and that there a prepared people waiting to recieve the gospel. I love you Love Elder Call.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
