16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,
   
    Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it. I am excited to see what happens. The members are helping alot really all of our investigators are tied to members in some way and we dont have to do too much contacting. Basically Ever and sergio are the best missionaries in the ward I did and division with Ever on thursday and it was legit his testimony is so powerful yet so simple. We are having quite a few problems in the the bishop is done he hasnt been released but supposably he moved out on saturday to get away from everybody. I didnt pass by though to see if he was gone. Now the 2nd counsler is going inactive because the bishops dad hates him and they had a fight. I havent heard the whole deal yet but Pride is part of the problem. Hopefully everything just goe by well and they all stay active and make the changes they need to to follow. This ward has a lot of potential so I hope it can pull through they want to make it a new stake center towards the end of the year. I know that it will pull through satan just throughs out everything hes got before somthing good happens. We need to be alert to what is temptation and no. I know that this is the true church, that this work is guided by God and that as we are obediant we recieve blessing. I love each of you and horpe for the best. Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long.
