17 Jan. 2010: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #13

Dear Family and friends,
 
How are you all doing back in the school mode? We had a really good week here and  I felt like we really saw lots of blessings. Saturday was Diegos baptism! He has sure progressed alot recently It has been rewarding to see the change. Here is a few pics of us. His whole family came to his baptism so it was special his parents a great but just are have a hard time changing(getting married, stop smoking and drinking forever and not working on sundays.) Sometime I feel bad because they dont have the faith yet to give it all up, It also makes me grateful to have been born into a family without these challenges. It really is hard to change culture.
 
As for another miracle last sunday we were walking down a road we always walk down when I all of a sudden had the impression to turn right and contact a random house. I didnt think to much about it the house was where an in-active member family lived, we talked for a minute or two and planed a moment to pass back by on tuesday. we went tuesday and met the whole family they are golden the parents are members and have three girls that arent yet members that want to be baptised the cool thing is the whole family wants to become active and all came to church for the first time in about ten years WOW. I felt blessed to have been guided to such a family.
 
This wendsday are transfers again I think Me and Humphreys will stay together but I think its preety much unpredictable-. I really would be surprised to leave. we will find out a bit later though. So I will let you know next week. Thanks for the letters btw I got the Jensen Family calender and just love it Thanks grandma for sending it to me it is a great reminder of my awesome family. With lots of love Elder CALL

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
