18 Apr. 2011: Salado Week #3

Dear Family and Friends,
 
We had a great week, I felt like we were being blessed throughout the whole week and I am excited for the weeks to come, First off though the baptism didnt happen yet, but it is planned for Saturday. Sergio is a great guy and the members are excited for him he is 17 and we have heard from several members he looks like one of those that will serve a mission, andhe is like that he already is because he has a buddy that he started teaching that is golden too. His name is Eber and is also 17 he is a really spiritual guy who, has already made lots of changes in his life to follow Christ, It was kind of funny because we talked with him on like wendsday and he committed to go to church. on Saturday when we went by he was shining his shoes getting ready to go tommarrow. We werelike ya he´s a awesome investigator, we taught him and made plans to go get him for chuch so he could go with us the first week. but when we showed up sunday morning he was gone and his dad said he went to Limpio or the city we were frusterated and I couldnt figure out how on earth he was going to back out on us. We just deacide to go to church and hoppe for the best. when we got there he was just standing there waiting for us and had been there for like thrity minutes. he later told us he had a good chat with the 1st counsler in the bishopric and was just reading and stuff like that. so I felt good that he has felt the truthfulness of this gospel and it is amazing to watch i change the life a child of God.
I know that the gospel is true I feel the power of it as i study, teach and testify, Elder Scovill has been helping me alot in my teaching and testifing after being with a comp that cant really speak it is so nice to be able to lean on him. I tell him he is just as much senior comp as me, he seem to have gooten back some of the desires he lost whenhe didnt leave., He will go up next change. Icant believe how fast time is going it seemto punch me in the chest now when I think about it, I am trying to evaluate my self often and alway improve so I can become the missionary I want to be before I have to stop. I love each of youi and hope you are all doing great, Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
