18 July 2011: Salado Week #16

Dear Family and Friends,

Thanks again for the letters, I am sorry to hear that Great Grandma Call passed away. I love telling the Paraguayans that my great grandma had 14 children. Most Paraguayans have quite a few too, but I have always looked up to great grandma she has always been a great example-.

This week was actually pretty warm. It warmed back up to the point of sweating a time or two. It feels like the cold is on its way back though or at least today it cooled down- . I enjoy the heat now more than the cold. This sunday it rained again with is always a bad thing because the people dont like coming to church in the rain. At home I liked when it rained on sundays...I guess just because I didnt have to worry about how many investigators I had in chruch. Supprisingly we did alright this week and quite a few members came in the rain we also have some awesome investigators. Anivel the other friend of Sergio and all them came again he knows alot now and has been to church a number of times, He is great but doesnt know if he wants to make the comittment of baptism. especially because his family doesnt support him and he will have to give up drinking I think he will come around he has started to taste the blessing of the gospel. We are also teachingAngelica Evers other sister at first she wasnt too interested then she started to see the changes in Ever and Adry. We gave he a bookof mormon the other day and before we even really returned to teach her about it she read all of 1 nephi-. She is reading a lot and has a baptism date for the 6th of august. I am pretty sure she will get baptised-. Evers mom told us this week that she no longer wanted to wait until after Evers mission to get baptised and that she could see herself getting baptised soon. It was awesome because we hardly did anything. It just shows how the Spirit changes hearts and prepares people to recieve the gospel by testifing that it is true. We know just have to work on the Dad! Juans mom is amazing too she committed to come to church but then didnt make it but we are sharing with her quite a bit. She got in a divorce about 4 years ago since then hasnt been active in any churchsince. she is excited to get to know the church with juan. We should continue having sucessin the weeks to come.

I feel so blessed to be here at this time the Lord has really prepared these families. I sometimes feel that I am not a good enough teacher to teach these wonderful people. I know that what we share is true and know that the spirit help us and guides us in all that we do. I love this work, I Love each of you and wish the best for each. Love Elder Call
