2 Aug. 2010: Pedro Juan Caballero Week #6

Dear Family and Friends,
 
Thanks for the letters, this week was crazy again so sorry my email is so late but everything is great.
 
I will start with Saturday. saturday was just a normal day but as the day went on the clouds and cold moved in which was a bad thing with our plans to go to Santa Clara on sunday, knowing that if it was to cold the Indians wouldnt meet or want to do the baptisms. I was worried about it because we wanted to go because it was already way late as you know. So we fasted and prayed that the weather would be good enough to go there and that everything would work out. Sunday morning I woke up and looked out the window and said Oh man its foggy, rainy and way cold. Thinking the Lord would anwser my prayers. I was wrong! We had our meeting here and then went in a car to Santa Clara.leaving behind all the fog and rain and most of the cold. We got there and it was not perfect weather but it was good enough I just said Wow Look at the Blessings we recieved. Really it was a miracle! We made the walk into the village but they hadnt met at the house that they were suposed to so we walked an extra 10 km and found them., We then proceeded to get them ready for their baptismal. We baptised the five int the first picture and it was awesome. They are just the sweetest most humble people ever. So that it was  the photos explain the rest.
 
For the Awnsers mom, we knew about them from other misionaries from the past that just never made it out to get it done but mostly the members teach the tribemembers that arent members.
 
There are Five Branches and 10 misionaries.
Its Bigger Than Afton thats for sure, but heres an Idea, It has a toyota store with an Fj crusier in it, A John deere store, A store called shopping china that is the biggest nicest single store that I have been in even in the State apart from maybe Cabelas and and Ton of rich Brasilians.
 
 
I am so glad I am a missionary for the true church of Jesus Christ I know he lives and that God hears and Anwsers prayers. I love you Tons

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
