2 May 2011: Salado Week #5

Dear Family and Friends,
 
I am doing great we had just another great week, It got really cold though and I have been freezing right now I am ever wearing thermal garments and a sweater. When I looked at the Thermometer it was still like 65 degrees so I dont know why I feel so cold. Maybe the humidity? As For the work, it is going well and we are recieving lots of blessings, Eber is still just doing Greatand is super excited about his baptism on saturday He and Sergio were going to go to the temple a couple days ago and Sergio got his intervioew and everything, Eber was just going to go to see the temple , but at the last minute they couldnt go so that was a bumer but it ok because they are super excited about it. After Ebers baptism i am sure they will go. We are trying to get and are hoping that all of Ebers family will come and support him in his baptism so that will be awesome his family his really nice and have opened up a ton to us,. We even taught his mom a little bit! He has made so many changes and it has been awesosme to see his testimony grow. He loves Alma 32 about the seed and how it grows when we nurish it. He had basically dropped out of school but he startes back up today. So that is cool too. I am really excited for his baptism his friend Juan is a great investigator also Eber and sergio have been teaching him with us so it is super cool to have two brand new powerful testimonies onyour side, Juan has been readin praying and he came to church. He said he really enjoyed church and explianed it like being in a place where you forget all your problems....! He has  Baptismal date for the 21st so we are excited to continue to see him progress. 
Joel and Cristina were sick and didnt come to church I we will see what happens with them. we havent really been able to teach them all week so that is not good but we should be able to start teaching them betteronce he gets better. That is about all for the week but for those moms who I dont get to talk to this week Happy Mothers Day especially Grandma Call and Grandma Jensen, I love you all and am Excited about the update on Sunday.

For the phone call, You can just call my Cellphone my number is 0972-101-763 to call it you will Dial (011)-595-0972-101-763 Elder scovills parents will call at 9:00pm my time so if you will call at 8:40 my time that would be perfect. I cant make calls out of the country with the Cell only recieve. so you should call sometime before to make sure it works Like a little earlier my time like 1:00 pm Sunday,  In the past I would call you to plan the call but we have nowhere to do it here so this is the info you will get I hope it works! IF not we will talk monday haha... it should work. I love you Mom and Dad, And Family.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
