21 Mar. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #22

Dear Family and Friends,
 
Thanks for the letters it was fun to hear from you all. I had another good week, We have been working really hard, I am glad to still be here in Mariano with Elder Humphreys, We have been doing lots of contacts and working with members to try to get referals. we have gotten a few good ones. Fernando, Edils friend is looking really good we taught him the doctrine of Christ, about Baptism and he acepted to prepare for the 9th of April . So we are excited about that because he is really smart and loves learning. He came to church and really enjoys it there. It helps so much to have such a strong group of active youth.
I am really excited for General Conferance. It is awesome to listen to the prophets, I read the november ensign from cover to cover since the last one, It suprised me why I had never done that before, We get to go to the temple on the first too so it will be a great week to be filled with the joy of the spirit. To anwser your other questions we have over a hundred members each sunday in church usually 130 so it is a big branch. I am still district leader and I still just have the 2 sisters and 2 elders in my district. and there are like 14 misionaries in the zone. 
 
We met Maxima s husband he is nice at least said he would go to church with us to get to know it at least. I hope he does because he had been drinking a bit but Maxima wants so bad her whole family to be baptised so we will see what happens , I really know that the spirit felt at church is real and that it can change lives sometimes we are so used to it that we dont realize  how powerful it really is ,after listening to testimonies of many investigators my testimony has stregthened and have realized to importance of what we feel like there. I know the church is true  this is His work... I love you all

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
