23 May 2011: Salado Week #8

Dear Family and friends,
 
This week was awesome! We really saw the hand of the Lord in our labors. I am so excited for the work here there is so much potential when everyone works together thing turn out. Our second councler came back so that was good, there are still lots of challanges but I guess there always will be. I have been loving the work with Ever he has really turned out great he left with us twice on divisions this week and he just loves it. He loves teaching and is not afriad to share his testimony with others. his younger sister is progressing she has some doubts with baptism still but she will come through(here in Paraguay everyone gets baptised as a baby in the catholic church so sometimes almost always have doubts about being baptised ¨again¨) but it usually isnt something that stops them from being baptised. Ever told us his older sister was interested and wants us to pass by she is married or at least together with a guy and has two kids. We dont know her yet though very well. Sergio is still doing good too, I think they are all going to the temple on Thursday. Ever blessed the sacrament yesterday,  
 
There is a section of our area that has a ton of inactive members that all live within like 8 blocks., we have been working with them or at least the ones that arent basically Anti and let us in.  there is a family that is like key to the whole area that basically lead all the member in that part,. We have Focused on her and her family and finally the show back up to church, Sister Ramoa brought like thirty people 6 of which were member of her extended family that arent members so we have a bunch of new investigators, they seemed to enjoy church but mostly only speak guarani, so a challange for us since I came back from Pedro Juan I havent had to practice guarani,so I dont know much. 
 
I am so greatful for the opportunity I have to be here we still havent heard about changes.I am guessing scovill will go. I know this is the work of the Lord and that He hears and answers prayers. I love you all very much Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
