25 Apr. 2011: Salado Week #4

Dear family and friends,
 
Thanks for the happy easter this week! As far as I remember it was probably the best.  we are recieving lots of blessings. Iknow that the Lord ishearing and answering our prayers. First of Sergios baptism was great he is a great young man, His mom came tothebaptism and said she felt really good and that once she could she would startto go to church, Eber is also doiing great he is reading alot in the book of Mormon and knows it is true yesterday at church he told me he had a friend that was also interested in the gosple and wantedus to bring a Bookof Mormon,We went last night with Eber and got to know him and set a return visit for tonight the coolest thingwas as we introduced ourselves Eber told his buddy ¨Iam the future Elder Mesa¨ It was awesome! I am so excited for these jovenes they are great. currently the best missionaries in Salado and one has only been a memberfor 24 hrs andthe otheris still investigating, I wish there was a way to send the feelings  felt when seeing these young men recieve anwsers to their prayers and acting upon them to repent and change their lives completely.
 
We also had another miracle sunday when a less active came with her non member husband. Her Name is cristina and his name his joel. He almost got baptised several years back but started working on sundays and never made it back to church.  he recently took up another job and doesnt work on sunday., They decided to go to church. theyneedto get marrried but theylook great I hoope every thing goes great they will be great benifits to the ward.
 
The ward is still struggling and the bishop is done He will be realeased  but I dont know when. we havelots of other great members  so that ios good. I am starting to realize that this is probably my last area it is hard to believe I feel Like I am not that old in the mission I think I am the oldest missionary in the whole zone.
 
I know his work is the work of good being obediant and studying the scriptures brings the spirit and the spirit teaches and changes hearts., I am so greatful to be here. as a missionary Ilove it,.Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
