26 July 2010: Pedro Juan Caballero Week #5

Dear Family and Friends

Thanks for all the great uplifting letters; this week went really well even though the santa clara trip didnt go down again. It was okay though because it gave us time to focus on our branch and work hard. Sunday we saw the blessing and had seven great investigators in church. We are working with some awesome people but are running into a few problems with the members, not that many people come to church. only like 35 but the members havent been very open hearted with new people expecially investigators. Which as a missionary is super frustrating because it puts way more presure on us. To help we are starting to plan ward activities every wendsday so that members and investigatorsunite better. Hopefully it works.; 

As for Santa Clara the indians had a trial in court about their land that just happened to come up on sunday so now we will wait for the sunday to come . But now there are 9 that want to get baptised so we have to go make sure the are married and stuff like that and teach a bunch more. So ya we are excited for that. It is quite the experiance they dont speak much at all in spanish so we have a translator all the time.  But as for their branch. they have meeting and sacrament but as for organization almost nothing.  they are the most humble people the the world though.

As for other baptisms we should have one this week of Gustavo but it might move to the next week because his Dad wants him to wait. but I dont know what will happen yet.

I cant believe how quikly time is flying as I continue to work hard, learn and grow I continually recieve asurance that this is the work of the Lord that Jesus Christ lives and love us so much that he put his church on the earth again so that we could recieve the blessing from Him. I am grateful He called me on a mission that I have the oppurtunity to serve him serving these wonderful people of Paraguay. I love you and pray for you.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
