27 June 2011: Salado Week #13

Dear Family and Friends,
 
Another week has come and gone, I had a great week but it passed by super fast quite a bit happened so th only problem is it is super cold. This morning was in the mid-low 30s Imagine that without any kind of insulation or heater. I was freezing! Luckly w have fairly thick blankets so i didnt freeze.
We had a baptism service Saturday night in the cold and there were quite a few people there taking inacount th cold and rain. Adry got baptised and also Cesar the 8 yr o.ld grandson of sister Medina. They both asked me to baptise them. I was hoping Adry would let Ever do it but she didnt want him to. It was a nice service. Evers mom and one of his other sisters came to the service so that ws cool there were four investigators there. Sergio ad Ever are doing great I love to see how much the ward is using them and giving them opportunities to serve.they are becoming strong converts. Juan and Anival to of their good friends re doing great to nd progressing well they have two attendance and a date for the 9th I hope we can keep find more and working more and more with their family and friends. 
with the cold there were less people in church but w still had a good turn out.I hope  they call the new bihop soon it will sure be nice to hav that leadership position filled. Changes are next week so it will be interesting to see what happens it is my scond to last so I dont know what to think way to fast the time passes. 
Today for pday we went to the medinas and I learned how to kill and clean a chicken it was somthing I really want to do it was fun and I learned lots. tht way if some day I have chickens I will know how to do it. haha tonight  we are going to eat it. Also one of the members went hunting and shot a deer. and we got to eat it yesterday so that was cool it was supper good its meat was alot more like pork that the deer we eat- 
I almost forgot to mention the last pic  the man Cristian was baptised by my comp on saturday hes from our ard but was excomunicated he had been prepraring for a long time. so that was cool. 
 
I know this is the work of the Lord I love you all very much and hope for the best. (Especially you Townsen have fun on your mission work hard and love the people). Take Care Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
