29 Nov. 2010: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #6

Dear Family and Friends
 
How was thanksgiving? Mine was great but very different all I eat was basically a Chorrizo for lunch and a hotdog for dinner...but I guess it isnt all about the food. It was good though I did take a minute to write down a few things I am thankful for so I would count that as a great holiday. Dont feel bad for me because I really did have a great week. We saw a miracle when Shirley was baptised on Wendsday which turned out wonderful but also very special, she had a special interview with President Madariaga and we had everything all planned out but as we where filling the font a waterline broke and we had no more water... I was stressed out because it was already late and the font was only like half full. Shirley is 24 and like 4 months pregnant so I was Like I dont think I can baptise her like that but decided it would be ok and she was willing to sit down for the baptism! It all worked out perfect and it was a huge answer to my prayers. 
 
The Heat...As december fastly aproaches we continually get hotter reaching now 36-37 degrees cel. making it both harder and easier to sleep. Harder because of the heat and easier because of the draining of energy. I dont mind it though the people seem more tranquilo in the summer and when its not raining. 
 
Sunday was good but it started dumping rain right beforewe left for church so lots of investigators backed out. We had 4 though and a new family that came for their first time they came in the rain bythemselves so I was shocked but it was another miracle and blessing from God. 
 
Edil wanted to wait until this upcoming friday for his baptism, He is a stud 18 and loves church he is having a few problems with his mom though and thats why hes waiting. His mom is Catholic and doesnt think he needs to be baptised. 
 
For Pday today we went fishing!!! I can now say I have caught a fish in paraguay it was about an 8inch cat fish just a little guy I than gave it to a paraguayan after taking a bunch of pics.
 
Other than that the work is good I love being here and know the chuch is true. With lots of love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
