3 Jan. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #11

Dear Family and Friends,
 
Happy New Year!!! It was fun to read about your experiances this last week. I also had a good New Year. I am grateful to be here in Paraguay with my companion Elder Humphreys through these holidays even though I would have loved to have spent them with you all, I learned alot this last week about the importance of obediance hard work and love because on thursday Elder Humphreys mom passed away we found out while at the church during an end of the year party when President and Hermana Madariaga showed up with the news. I felt really bad because I cant even image how he feels. His mom had cancer but it was a surprise to him and his family. He talked with is family and discussed the options that he had, He decide that staying would be the best choice because being a missionary is what she wanted and she is proud of him. He is a great example to me in hard work and obediance. He is doing well and didnt even want to take a day off. I think we will have the oppertunity to watch the funeral through a brodcast because his Stakecenter is all set up with that. It sound to me like a good option. 
I am also doing great the holidays are kind of a tough time to find progressing investigators with all the Parties, travels and beer. I am glad they are over now even though it sounds kind of harsh, the holidays just arent the same here! We are working with some great people I am excited for everythin to just calm down. 
This week there was lots of rain I didnt take any pictures but the rain was crazy there was like a foot of water in the streets. It feels good not to be hot and sweaty but after the rain when the sun come out the humidity and heat are impresive, It turned out thoughto be a pretty good week I learned lots and learned and strengthened my testimony on the Plan of our Heavenly Father. He knows what is best, Jesus Christ lives and through him there is a way to get back to live with him with all of our family members. I know this isthe true church of Jesus Christ, We are missionaries for a reason. I love you Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
