31 Jan. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #15

Dear Family and Friends.
 
I had another great week here in Paraguay, I dont know what is different but I feel like we are recieving more blessings that normal. I have never noticed so many little miracles in my whole mission. The week started we a FHE with the Serafini´s and we watched Together Forever and played Flour Tower. It turned out great I feel like it is super successful when everyone cries from the feelings they have and also laugh really hard during the activity. I have seen only good things come from effective FHE.
The week continued and on thursday 3 of our recentconverts went to the temple! Diego Araceli and Edil. They are all doing great and just love the Temple. 
Also on thursday we went to visit Serafini´s and we taught word of wisdom they were all good except the mom drank coffee and basically testified to me that coffee made her feel better we just promised her blessings if she would give it up and told her she whold feel better. On saturday she bore testimony that it was true she said not only had she given up Coffee but she stopped eatting so much meat and more veggies and fruits. She said she felt better than she had in a long time it was neat to hear her testimony and change. 
Also Her husband bore testimony of the love of God and the power of prayer telling of his experiance from the day before. He has been jobless for over a year and couldnt find anything to do that was worth it, they lived of the salary of his wife. Thursday he decided to pray and ask God to help him he the picked up his Cellphone and was just flipping through the numbers he felt like he should call one of his old work companions he did and to make a long story short the boss was looking for another driver, he is a taxi driver and has been for a long time,. Anyway started working and was very grateful for his anwser! 
Also awsome to liten to my testimony strengthens just listening to it. We shared with them how we were guided to their house and how I knew from that they were loved and watched over by our Heavenly Father. 
Friday we were lead to another miracle contact were we met a 25 yr old in active member and his wife. The have one child and its been about ten years since he has been to church. He was ready to go again and came with his whole family they are awsome! I am super excited to see them progress. He hadnt talked with missionaries for about ten years either?
Any way those are a couple of the Highlights I love being a missionary I know the church is true that the spirit leads and guides us and that the Book of mormon is true. I love you all Love Elder Call
 
BtW the pictures are elder humphreys and I at Paulistas a sweet restaurant Costs $14 all you can eat and is way nicer than any where else I have ever eaten even in the States, I am sure James will eat ther some time because it is on the border of our missions.
 
Also I bought a new hat. the heat is just ridiculous! usually about 40 degrees in the day Celcius.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
