31 May 2010: Aregua cerca Luque Week #9
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for your letters this week it was fu to hear from you even though I cant Believe you wrecked the boat. I specifically told Evan in his letter Dont do anything bad to the boat but What am I going to do.
We had a pretty good week nothing amazing but just a solid week. The high-light was finding news serving others. Friday night we were heading in colective to a section of our area that includes a pretty long walk especially when the colectivos do go all the way down. The colectivo decided not to go down all the way so we had to walk. we got off the colectivo with a few other people but one of the had like ten bags of groceries. I first looked and thought oh no! Idont want to haul groceries again. But I turned around and told them to let me help because we were going down there too. We startedwalking and talking to the guy first. He was way cool with lots of questions. we then met his wife she was awesometoo and said that she used to live in Luque by the mormon church and there she would often talk to the missionaries. She said she would call them her little angels. When we got back to their house they asked when we could come back we set an appiontment for wendsday. I still dont know alot about them but I felt like it was a sweet blessing for hard work.- I am excited to start teaching them.
The other highlight was with the friend of an investigator. We had met her before but had never gone to her house. well we finally decided to go. We got there and she invited us in and everything but the cool thing was she has barrowed all the pamplets, the book of mormon and even the liahona magazine from her friend. She said she Read all of the pamplets and every thing and that they helped her out so much. She wants to go to church too but just barly had a baby so she wants to wait a bit.
We have been spending a lot of our time with non-progressing investigators. It is really hard for me to drop an investigator but this week we have to find some new people that is my goal. I am super excited about zone conferance this week and what we will learn there. It always give me the desires to do better. The Crazy thing is it is the last Zone Conferance with President Wade. I cant believe it!
Last week I printed off Elder Bednars talk called Becoming A Missionary. I remembered reading it before the mission and wanted to re-read it. I Feel like too many times(days or hours) we just go through the motions of a missionary without actually becoming a missionary. Elder Bednar stesses the word becoming. We cant just go through the motions. I look forward to Zone conferance and the spirit we feel there.
I hope that you all are doing well. I look forward to hearing from you next week.
