4 July 2011: Salado Week #14

Dear Family and Friends,

Thanks for your letters this week it was great to hear from you it
sounds like you had a boring week or you just didnt have much time to
write. Its ok though I had another awesome week it was a bit crazy and
I am ecited for the work in Salado. On Friday I Got a call from Elder
Hatfield one of the elders in my district saying that his comp was
getting special changed on Saturdayand that he would be leaving on
wednesday because president has to close a few areas because more
missionaries are leaving than coming for the next couple of months.
Which leaves me and my comp in charge of the whole ward. It was a big
suprise to me becuase it is a huge area to walk. We now have just over
100 active members with several hundred less active members.- It seems
like tons of people to visit. It makes me think of the missionaries at
home just the two of them and like 16 wards and 2 stakes, so I guess
one ward is nothing.
I am really excited for the work we have a lot of potential here
with so many great members I dont see it possible not to have success.
Speaking of that Juan is going to get baptised on saturday he is the
friend of Sergio and Ever, the coolest thing ever is all three of them
have their mission papers. Sergio turns 18 this month, Juan is 18 and
Ever inSeptember, in one year they could all be going on a mission.
they talk about it all the time and are gettting super involved in all
the activities. I dont think I mentioned that last week they went to a
fireside withElder Foster from the 70 That is when Juan decided he
wanted to be baptised. I have never met such a group of young men I
love teaching them and learning with them they are wonder ful examples
to me. I have seen the Gospel change their lives and the joy they feel
when they are doing whats right. Adry is also doing great and is
getting involed in the activities. Her mom Nilda came to church with
Gabriel Evers and Adrys 4 year old brother. he is very disobediant but
I was very happy to see him in primary with his mom. the teachers gave
the opportunity for her to help`so that was great. It makes me so happy
to see them progress.
We havnt got the normal changes yet so maybe a bit later. I a
pretty sure I will stay. Now more than ever I want to stay and finish
strong here. It will give me plenty to do so I wont get bored or have
time to think about home. I dont like thinking about home anymore
because it doesnt make me feel good. So I try not to at all. I love
the mission. I know the church is true my testimony grows a little bit
everytime I share it.I am happy I have been learning somthing about
the book of mormon... If one of our investigators doesnot read the
book of mormonon a regular bases he or she will not progress. however
if they read every day they will go to church and progress, be
baptised and continue toprogress. Ilove you all very much. Love Elder
Call
