5 Sept. 2011: Luque Week #4

Dear Family and friends, 


Thanks again for your great letters, I love reading your letters, they usually help me remember how great my family is. I this week had some of the most spiritual and most challanging moments of my mission. It has been  a great week. The highlight would be our zone conferance on Wednesday, it was my last one, my best one and one I wont forget. President Arnold from the 70 was there. He is one of the most amazing examples I have ever met. I had about 6 hours of conferance and training, and a 10 min personal interview.. The spirit present was so special. In one of the moments between sessions he pulled me off to the side and told me several things with tears in his eyes about how the Lord feels about me.  I stood in shock abit that the Lord would think so great of me, he mentioned that sometimes i am just to hard on myself but have no reason to feel like so much lower than most people- It was a moment I will never forget he didnt know I would later have an interview because he interveiwed all the zone leaders but when I walked in he said Im so glad  I get to talk to you again. We had a great interview and he shared some more things with me and told me to write home this week and share 1 nephi 1:1 with you all for being such a great family, and great parents. He gave me a few warnings and tips about getting married and knowing what to do when I get home saying, If you want to know where to go to school talk to the Lord about it, If you want to know who to marry talk to the Lord about it, if you want to know what to do in life talk to the lord about it. It really was somthing special I wish I couldtell you all everything he said but I wont be able to.-  

As for the work this week it was good we had Angelica´s confirmation on sunday and really recieved some anwsers to our prayers and fasting.Our branch is struggling a bit but after the fast we learned alot about the problems so now we kind of know what we need to do. I hope it all gets worked out before I finish and we talked to Pres. Maradiaga and he basically told us there isnt much we can do about it. because it is the Stake presidents responsibility. I am positive it will all get worked out- And usually in the gospel challenges just strengthen testimonies and give new beginings. We have a few investigators that are doing great but it seems with everyone we are being tested to the fullness. At church we just had 23 people which is pretty rough I blessed the sacrament and shared my testimony it was one of the most spiritual sacraments I remember, I know the church is true, Jesus Christ is our savior, He lives, through him all mankind may be saved, I know the book of mormon is the word of God, Reading it and praying about it is the only way to become converted, Its True! I love you guys and cant wait to see you. Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
