6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,
 
I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. She is just so positive and a great example.
Ever and Sergio are doing well they have so much temptation it makes me feel bad for them. They are both great and want to choose the right. They come from families  that the word of wisdom is ok even for them their parents dont care wether or not they drink. Their friends all drink smoke and arent very respectful with their decisions. Ever and sergio are great examples that it doesnt matter what people think of you, they stand up for hte truth and are progressing. Evers sister came to church again and has a baptism date for the 18th, It will be great to give Ever that support.
The other thing is the ward more and more members are returning to church.and it seems to be getting better we are still without bishop and I dont know how long it will be til we have one, I still dont understand everything that happened but several of the members are still knocking heads abit I think it will get better though,. It seems like things are coming around. It does stress me out a little bit to see all the challenges in the lives of the investigators, and members but I know that this work is true that it will get better. that has we focus on becoming more like Christ we will succeed. Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
