7 Feb. 2011: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #16

Dear Family and Friends,
 
How are you all doing? I had another great week here in Paraguay. It was full of good experiances except for the fact that Paraguayan sommthing got the best of me starting in the middle of the night on saturday, Just woke up with a Fever and Headache, and came to find out that I was pretty sick. I spent most of the night in the bathroom with sickness coming out from both ends.... sorry that was probably a bit graphic. I caught me off guard though because I had never thrown up on my mission. After a while a went back to bed and woke up the same way. I was so hot I started to panic a bit and passed out on the bathroom floor and just stayed there a little bit. It was time to get ready for church and we had a couple investigators going for the first time and I wanted to go  to be there for them dispite everything that had happened. We left about 20min later and met the investigators on the colectivo/ bus I still didnt feel good and almost threw up on the bus, but it was good because we were there. Just not Ideal. 
 
I still have a bit of a fever and stuff but have been resting lots I hope I get feeling better soon. Dont worry about me though I am ok while I was laying on the bathroom floor I started to miss mom a bit just because she was always there to help. elder humphreys is good though too his dad is a pharmacist so he knows a little bit.   The reason I say we still had a great week is because we had the baptism of the three Serafini sisters Rocio, romina and Noelia. They were excited about their baptism and felt good Heres a picture so that you can all see.
 
Our two best new investigators are Maxima and her son Hugo he is 18 and she is like fifty they really enjoyed church and Maxima mentioned how she wants her husband to come so they can be there as  a family! We will see how he is I havent met him yet.
 
But that is about it I am greatful to be a missionary and serve these great people of paraguay.I love you  Love Elder Call

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
