8 Aug. 2011: Salado Week #18

Dear Family and Friends,

It was nice to hear from you again this week. It sounds like you had a
great time at lake powell. The week just flew right by again and I am
still doing great, I think I am doing even better every day. I had a
couple moments this week where I thought a bit about what I didnt know
when I got here and how differant the culture is. I had to think hard
because now it is a part of me or at least so normal I have basically
forgotten how different it was for me when I got hear. I really love
it.

This week we had Angelica´s baptism It turned out really well we did
it on saturday and she asked my comp to do the baptism so it was neat
because it was his first to perform convert baptism. He was excited
about it and did a great job. there were quite a few members mostly
youth at the baptism. Our ward has a lot of youth so it is great for
missionary opportunities. Juan and his brother Junior are doing
awesome, Junior is reading lots and loves church. he is really excited
for his baptism on the 20th. their Sister Barbara is also starting to
progress she came to church and seemed to really enjoy it. It is great
because she and Adry and Angelica are friens so the can support one
another.

This week I read the July Liahona, I am not sure if it is the same as
the Ensign but I read te story of a girl who has a Fast journal and
that every fast sunday she writes the purpose of her fast andthrough
out the day she writes the anwsers of her prays.
I decided to try it, I wrote down the purpose of my fast and
continually prayed for the blessings. I think it was the first time I
noticed a big differance in what my fast did,.After church we
imeadiatly started seeing the results. I now have astronger testimony
of the Fast. I know that God hears and answers prayers. Miracles
happen all around us. I hope you are all doing well and if not so
much, at least being happy. Know that I love you all and pray for you!
Love Elder Call
