8 Nov. 2010: Mariano Roca Lonzo Week #3

Dear Family and Friends,
 
How was your week? Thanks for the the letters and pictures, I love hearing from you! I had a great week everything went as planned and we had the baptism of Araceli, it was another great baptism. As you see in the pictures her whole family came, including Dad, Mom, brother sisters anf Sisters boyfriend. The spirit was strong and the whole family is progressing. They have several challanges though to overcome before they will be baptised...like the mom works sundays the dad drinks and smokes a bit and the other daughter needs to get married but we will see what happens they are a great family. 
 
We should have another baptism this week of a lady named Shirley she is the sister of two recent converts and loves the church. we had a neat experiance with her because she has been an investigator for quite awhile but we went and told her about Araceli´s baptism and how Araceli chose tobe baptised because she felt it was true and knew it was the true church we then looked and her and she sai´d ´´thats how i feel, Idont know how to describe it but when i go to church and read the Book of Mormon I feel that is true´´ and basically said she wanted to be baptised,. so that was awesome. It might get pushed to the next week though so that one of her sisters can be there., but she is basically ready,. her husband lives in germany and she will be going back in about january so that will be cool for the missionaries in germany because she is sharing with her husband,.
 
Today for P day we are going to a fancy restuarant in asuncion. I have never been so I am excited to eat there, that is about all we ever do is go somewhere to eat!
 
The time changed several weeks ago but right now it is about 11:00
 
The Last picture is...... you have to guess we found a plant and each stole a leaf..haha. In paraguay it is legal to have one plant as long as it is not too big. but its for medicine or at least that is what they say.

Dear Family and Friends,  I had another great week, we found some good new investigators and brought five of them inchurch,  I feel that the branch is getting better now, we had those first few weeks I was here that were full of so many problems, but I feel that they have strengthened me and the other members of the branch. The attendance is rising weekly. It has been tough for me to come here to amparo and leave all of the people from saldo and the success there but I know that the Lord sent me to Amparo for a reason. I learn alot from elder Roeller hes a good missionary and always positive and animating. I am greatful to finish my mission with him. We had some special changes in our zone and since Wendsday I have been with elder Roeller and Elder Patterson. 6 June 2011: Salado Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,   I am glad to hear that everything went well with the trip to Lake Powell, it sounds like fun.haha. No I had a great week too, we are working hard and I am really enjoying my time with Elder Che. He is a hard worker and has good views on how to work effectivly. We are working most with the members. Last week we made Little sheets that have a scripture and a little note from us that is for references. We havent really recieved one yet but several of the members have invited and are planning for a time that we can go with them to visit. I am excited for it because we really need it we need more investigators. Several of the members are just great there is a Sister Medina that is like 70 years old that is one of my favorites. She has the biggest heart and is just great She broke her arm a coulple months ago so we started visiting her to help her out she also has a 8 year old grandson that is planning on getting baptised here before to long. 16 May 2011: Salado Week #7

Dear Family and Friends,         Thanks for your letters this week. I am doing good and the week passed by really quickly. It is really starting to cool down a bit here in Paraguay so that is nice. It is crazy that it will basically be cool the rest of my mission. We are really excited for Sergio and Ever. Sergio blessed the Sacrament for the first time yesterday and did great! he was also called or assigned to be like an assitant to  the Secretary of the ward So that wil be good. Ever I am sure will bless the sacrament this week to come it is awesome to see that they are getting so involved and and that they are doing so well. Ever got his sister to come which was a great sign for us his family is opening up a lot they still arent progressing really toward baptism but they will come around, His mom is really catholickind of I guess she knows alot and doest really practice any of it.
